At the root of the Calvinist paradigm is bad cognition associated with unwitting processes that need to be identified and avoided. If cognition follows correct process, Calvinism will never be a viable conclusion of any such process.

People crave certainty. Reducing the complex to the complicated gives the illusion of workability to provide certainty. But why crave certainty to begin with? Certainty provides security, confidence, rest. Having reduced the complex to complicated, and having overcome the mystery surrounding complicated, certainty is achieved. Essentially, by reducing the complexity of God into a complicated system man has created God in his image, something man can control, and placed faith in an ersatz god of his own creation.
Actually letting go, and simply trusting God in Jesus Christ is very difficult.

Codification is useful and necessary. Such codification can be adequate, but not exhaustive. We must keep in mind that the codification is less than the subject it tries to describe. A map is less than the land it depicts, but it’s very useful for navigating the land.

A Calvinst cannot be a logical thinker. Most illogical, unbiblical, and contradictory theology we have experienced....at least that I am aware of.
Here is an important difference in thinking and reasoning process between 2 groups ( and it applies to all people, religious or not)
Group one has heard an explanation, and accepted it without thinking about the proposition.
Group 2 establishes a belief from evidence, scripture.
We see these differences in criminal detectives.
The first Group looks at a scene, and quickly forms a theory, then seeks evidence to support the theory.
The second Group analyzes the details of a scene, the evidence present and absent, THEN forms a theory.

Double bind.. very interesting. I'm watching this again a year later and praise the Lord I see and understand more clearly than I did this time last year. yeah bro. It would be awesome if you did a video on "double binds" I can see how Dispensationalism has a huge amount of double binding. 🤔

The original context and understanding of this verse in Hebrews by both the writer and receivers of the epistle would have been VERY different than how it is used today to suggest that we need to "go to church", especially as a western mind would understand that.

To both the author and the recipients, the assembling of yourselves was done in homes and was highly interactive and personal. It wasn't anywhere in the universe of the modern western consumerist, business like institutional church.
