Wow. Some independent thought for once regarding race in this country and some honest analysis of race politics. That's a rarity these days. Yes, race politics is a religion. You are to accept the narrative that America is racist and that there is a racist oppressive system that is keeping down black people, and if you don't accept it, then you are racist. And you are not allowed to ask questions because when you start asking questions, then the whole narrative falls apart. This really is a great description of progressive social politics in general, whether it's gender politics, LGBT politics, race politics, etc. You either accept the given narrative or you are part of the problem.
