Great video as always. When it comes to recent history, you can't please everybody, but I think you were sufficiently impartial that no one can be upset too badly :-).

you forgot Lebanon's greatest hero or even a saint Youssef bek karam he fought the ottoman and refused their terrible rule and in the battle of bnachii he led a force of only one thousand men armed only by sword against a much more superior ottoman armed by guns army of 12 000 men and he won and killed thousands of them and only lost 7 men can u believe that . it was a miracle because he prayed with his man on the whole road and then he had a very cloudy weather to the point where the ottoman couldn't see them and that's how they won . later then the ottoman were going crazy about what just happened and started forming some very large force and many lebanese were starting to betray him cs they were paid so in order to save a lot of blood he accepted to be exiled . also earlier the count of tripoli who was a ottoman puppet announced karam a outlaw and put a price on his head so when karam heard this he went by himself to tripoli and surrendered himself and told the count that he will offer himself if only the money that was placed on him be given to the poor . the count was so amazed by him he let him go . he was a true man who was very religious and would not stop praying even when the ottoman were very close to him

Thanks for smoothly and concisely briefing us in the history of Lebanon though you left out the recent economic crisis and continuous degradation of everyday life through economical and political reasons.

I have just learned that my family originated from Lebanon...All my life I believed I was English...but since learning my origins...I have an overwhelming need to return...This is a unusual feeling as I know little to nothing about Lebanon...my ancestors fled religious persecution and migrated through Europe, to France...from France my ancestors migrated to Britain...🇱🇧 ❤️

You forgot to say that, During the reign of Fakhr al din II, Lebanon was expanded. Palestine, Israel, Syria and Jordan were all under the Emirate of Fakhr al din. Which means that they were all part of Lebanon.

My whole life I wanted to go to el libano and I finally did for a month this July. There wasn’t a second that I didn’t feel the current economic crisis; it was hot and humid as hell, no AC in hotel lobbies even, stayed in Airbnb’s for $20 and sweated my balls off because maufi karaba, couldn’t get ubers at times because maufi benzein, everyone trying to rip you off if you don’t speak Arabic. Still had a hell of a time!

it annoys me how Lebanon has done nothing major to remove any illegal immigrations and has not removed any none Lebanese citizen from its lands which all they do is make everything worse and the people never learn from past mistakes hopefully nobody votes the same politicians.
