Dushanbe meaning Monday in Persian, Dushanbe is the capital and largest city of Tajikistan. It was named this way because it grew from a village that originally had a popular market on Mondays.
Historically a small village, Dushanbe was made the capital of the Tajik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1924. Until 1929, the city was known in Russian as Dyushambe, and from 1929 to 1961 as Stalinabad.

Abū Ibrahim Ismail ibn Aḥmad May 849 – 24 November 907), better known simply as Ismail Samani, and also known as Isma'il ibn Ahmad, was the Samanid amir of Transoxiana (892–907) and Khorasan (900–907). His reign saw the emergence of the Samanids as a powerful force.He was the son of Ahmad ibn Asad and a descendant of Saman Khuda, the eponymous ancestor of the Samanid dynasty who renounced Zoroastrianism and embraced Islam.

Abu 'Abd Allāh Ja'far ibn Muḥammad al-Rudhaki born c. 859, Rudaki, Khorasan—died 940/941, better known as Rudaki, and also known as "Adam of Poets" , was a Persian poet regarded as the first great literary genius of the Modern Persian language.
Rudaki composed poems in the‌ modern Persian alphabet and is considered a founder of classical Persian literature. His poetry contains many of the oldest genres of Persian poetry including the quatrain,however, only a small percentage of his extensive poetry has survived. As it seems, Rudaki was the first person to combine different roles that were yet distinguishable entitles in the 9th century royal court.
