I had a string slice into a fret (3rd fret, high-e, probably from being jostled in the case) it was deep enough to catch the string during bends. It was a 30 year old guitar so a re-fret was really the only option.

Sad the people who owned this guitar only played open chords with too much pressure. I know this because thus js how my first guitar looked and since, it doesnt happen anymore.

The last luthier I asked to do a set up on my electric did it using super light strings and I use 11-49s. He lowered my locking bridge and now I get fret buzz on the first 5 frets despite having to completely redo the intonation 🤬🤬

Fret replacement seems too much work. Is it better to buy a bolt on neck and just replace the neck?
