J'adore, tout en délicatesse... On se laisse porter et emporter par la mélodie, et le plancher qui craque rajoute beaucoup de charme à cette musique

And then the doctor fell silent, adding nothing more—a silence unlike any I had ever heard before. It was as if the expression on his face had shifted, and he took a long, deep breath. I had always recognized these breaths; they were always accompanied by devastating misfortunes, past dates marking more pain and suffering. But this time, it was worse than ever before.

It was as if I already knew what he was about to say. My forehead shattered under the weight of that breath, and despite the warmth of the room, an unbearable coldness seeped into me, devouring my insides, banishing whatever warmth remained.

I glanced at the clock—its ticking had grown unbearably loud, disgraceful, sending shivers of unease through me. It felt as if time itself had begun to beat, one pulse at a time. The ticking continued, and the doctor’s breath stretched on—long, dreary, and drowsy.

Things would not be okay after this.

I know I’m a pessimist most of the time, but my instincts never fail me in moments like these. The noise around me faded, as if playing a sorrowful melody to usher in the next chapter of the journey—the greatest chapter of all.
