I use peppermint to keep mice out. Mix around 30 drops peppermint with water in a spray bottle

We had mice that we couldn't get rid of until I sprayed pure peppermint oil everywhere I could think of or see or smell any evidence of them being there. You have to be careful not to get it on your hands. I would also soak cotton balls in the oil and put them in cabinets, closets, etc. My house did smell like Christmas for a while but it wasn't unpleasant and best of all, the mice left, never to return. That was over 10 years ago.

I crushed fresh garlic and put it in my potted plants last year to try and stop so many moths from hanging around. I also put a bunch in snack bags and hung them around my door and the porch. I poked holes in the bags. It smelled like the best Italian restaurant around my house and it not only kept the moths away it also got rid of flies, fruit flies, mosquitoes and nats. Not sure if it will work on roaches or mice but it’s worth a shot.

I had problems with Cockroaches until I discovered Cinnamon powder, sprinkle a little on the base of cupboards, it's also good when doing plant cuttings.

I am from Florida, and I've also heard that that mixture of one part powdered sugar and one part Borax laundry detergent will also help to get rid of roaches.

DO NOT use a repellent on roaches or really ANY insects that live in cracks and crevices. What will happen is they go deeper into the void and breed even more until the repellent wears off then you'll be dealing with more. The other thing is they will build up a tolerance to the smell if you use it to consistently. Even most over the counter insect sprays have a repellent. If you want to do this on your own use dawn and water (50/50 mixture) in a spray bottle, 90% rubbing alcohol, sevin dust, delta dust, tempo 1% dust, and tempo wp. These are all safe around people and pets in moderate usage. All dust products can be placed in outlets and warm areas. If you don't want to use those types of products please leave it to us professionals who are trained on how to apply the proper amount of pesticide, termiticide, and rodenticide.

I know a great one for fruit flies
Get a little bit what you see they love . A couple tablespoon milk,
Or vinegar, juice, piece of banana peel . Place in the bottom of a 20 oz soda bottle, replace lid . Make small holes . (Very) just enough to climb in. A few around the top. They can crawl in but is much harder to fly and crawl out . They get trapped, plus the emit a sound or odor that attracts their friends to come join the party. Once full on the bottom throw away. Sometimes you can shake the bottle a little to help stir the odor in the bottle . The fliea will always find it .

I've had success using boric acid and diatomaceous earth for roaches. Takes a few days till their all gone. Living in an apartment is challenging sometimes with pests. It even kills the big water bugs too.
