My attempt worked great. The experiment is a reaction netween the fat in the milk and the disk soap. Wake sure you use whole milk since low fat and skim milk does not have a lot of fat. Also, heat your milk up to at least room temperature. The warmer the solution, the quicker the chemical reaction. Cold milk out of the fridge will not react as fast as warm milk.

This was cool to watch. And the best part...since you did it...and filmed it, I don't have to waste my own groceries.

Milk consists of lipids. You add water-soluble dyes. Then add a surfactant to disperse the dyes throughout the lipid. Simple concepts + clever ideas = magic. Lovely. It was interesting how the dyes spun outwards from the center and more dye appeared in the white center. I'm curious as to how it looks once everything almost stops moving.

Cha- It's used to break down fats and oils on your dirty plates (assuming you actually wash your dishes) and will have the same effect on milk

What soap is used here, and what brand plate? If you have time, I'd love to know. Thanks for this post!

There is one where you can put pepper into a small bowl of water and put a LITTLE bit of dish soap on your finger and touch the center... then something cool happens

This experiment can be done with skim milk... so the food colouring isn't suspended within the fat molecules, it's suspended in the various proteins of the milk.

No, the pigment molecules in the blue plate affect the amount of food coloring that is dispersed.

what i do is take a q-tip then cut the end off then soak it in dish soap then throw it in the food coloring+milk and it looks like a bomb
