After seven years of war, there is no end in sight to the suffering in Yemen. In this exclusive film, we report on the situation in the north-west of Yemen, held by the Houthis. 21 million people live in this enclave. There, since 2015, out of sight, a dirty war has been going on.

Sana’a, North of Yemen. One of the most inaccessible places on the planet. For the past six years, Ansar Allah, a political and military movement created by powerful families from the North, has seized control. But Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are determined to reinstall the ousted Yemeni president. They see the Houthi rebels, who belong to the Zaydist branch of Islam, as heretics who pose a threat to Wahhabism. Using weapons provided by the West, they relentlessly bombard the North in a dirty war. Over 230,000 Yemenis have already died.

A strict, expertly maintained embargo is also starving the population. According to UN agencies, Yemen is facing one of the worst famines in the world with 400,000 children reportedly at risk of death. New diseases have appeared since the beginning of the war and there has been a sharp increase in babies born with abnormalities.

But the war in Yemen is about more than just competing religious ideologies. Yemen owns substantial and underexploited oil reserves and controls roads leading to the Suez canal.

This documentary was produced by TV Presse and directed by Nicolas Jaillard & Guillaume Dasquié. It was first released in 2021.

I wish you didnt blur anything, most documentaries here in YouTube don't blur anything they report for the world to know how cruel it is. Anyways, I just found your channel and love your documentaries. Keep it up.

What shocks me is the suffering of children who are completely innocent and suffer from the stupidity of adults.😔

It's disturbing to realize that the greed for power and oil money is behind the atrocities committed. Innocent lives perish because of greed.

This is a terrific documentary, on a horrific war🙌🏽
I wish everyone to see it. Because it doesn’t take a genius, to see the parallels with the current Israel war on Gaza. 😳😓

Rebels controlling a part of a country is terrible. I do not think ordinary people want rebels takeover their country.

Only through religion could a culture remain so primitive in modern day society.

So have been Libya, Sudan, Morocco, Iran and Iraq, most of "Muslim" states. These civil wars were were fought in the West and Japan 75 years ago. We all have to fight for our own unique determination. Now the new wave of ideology driven fanatics everywhere in addition to these barbarics. So primitive.

The earth we will leave behind some day.
In 200 years, we will all have turned to dust.
And yet see the misery that is caused by those in power.
God, please protect us.

I always thought that money was to assist our lives, but wasn't everything, but how wrong I was, money is worth more than a human life, & so many people die because of it, & I once thought that human life was priceless, again, how wrong I was, all of these horrible deaths & sufferings, for paper or plastic, is absolutely appalling, it's what that paper or plastic can get them, arms, bullets, missiles, tanks, mines, all made for the destruction or horrific injuries of the ones that are supposed to be priceless, when will this attitude ever stop?
