Description: "Seif was a prolific artist who produced more than a thousand paintings, as well as numerous drawings and sketches. His early works are inspired by the use of the light and gentle strokes of his Italian professor, Ottorino Bicchi, who was close to the Italian Macchiaioli and the École de Barbizon. Later in his career, Seif used larger surfaces of bold colors and exercised greater freedom in his compositions, both of which brought him closer to Fauvism.
Seif was fascinated by the performance arts and depicted scenes of circus, ballet, opera, music concerts, bull-fighting as well as all types of sports, including horse races. He represented the life of the performers on stage and backstage by expressing their vivid and dynamic movements. His fascination with performance arts also led him to design several sets for theater and opera productions in Egypt. He painted numerous views of traditional Nubian villages before they were flooded, as well as many landscapes of Egypt and all the countries he visited, including Spain, France, Italy, Yugoslavia, Poland and Russia. Seif is also the author of a series of self-portraits that reflect his sense of humor and derision. Following the death of his brother, Adham, which affected him profoundly, he introduced a darker palette of colors and shades in his paintings. His works can be seen at the Seif and Adham Wanly Museum hosted in the villa of the Mahmoud Saïd Museum in Alexandria, the Museum of Fine Arts in Alexandria, the Museum of Egyptian Modern Art in Cairo, the Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, as well as in numerous private collections around the world."

I am greatfully surprised to see the work of an Egyptian contemporary master on this channel.i had the chance and privilege to meet this great man in the Egyptian Art Academy in villaborguese./Rome where i lived with him And his wife for several.weeks.so obviously we established a very friendly relationship.we became almost familly. It was back in september 1975. By then i was only 14 years old as he was about 73 or 75 he was already the most recognised and famous artist in Egypt with an international projection. I had also the pleasure to visit his cute and beautifull apartment in Alexandria which was almost a litle museum for his beautiful artwork hanging all over the place.
I hope that we will see more of these Egyptian old masters like Adham Wanly , El gazzar, Ahmed Sabry or hussein bikar and others

The brilliant Adham Wanly, his brother too is a wonderful painter called Seif Wanly. Both from Alexandria, Egypt. Their works are spectacular.
