I'm assuming that the "lion" mentioned within Rare Fleechwurm's bio is a reference to the Lion Dance! It's a traditional Chinese dance done during festivals where a couple of people puppet a lion costume together, and it's done to bring luck and good fortune! Also, the feathers on Fleechwurm seem to be based on the mythological Fenghuang, which is commonly referred to as the "Chinese Phoenix"!
