Incredible acting by Bryan Cranston, and incredible acting by Walt.

I'll never understand how Walt can be so good at lying and be so convincing and other times he's just terrible at lying like when he's lying to Skyler or something

Walt’s gaslighting was top tier this entire episode. What a show man.

I really like how Walt has a consistent tell to his deception. He _always_ overexplains, even in intense, emptional moments, and it was just enough for me to subconsiously pick up that _something_ was wrong here, even if I couldn't put my finger on what it was.

Probably the most underrated part of Breaking Bad is the soundtrack. You hear this theme here, in Crawl Space, in the Ozymandias trailer... it's just perfect.

This scene makes for a nice parallel with one of the final scenes of the show, where Jesse finally takes control and says: "Then do it yourself."

It’s crazy that Walt’s plan to poison Brock is so far out of left field almost nobody would suspect it. When Jesse talks about it he almost sounds insane. Walt was a genius for hatching the plan but we see here that Jesse actually know Walt well enough and is smart enough to know exactly what Walt did and how he did it. If he wasn’t such a push over to Walt’s manipulation he would have killed him in accurate grounds and it would have led to arguably a better fate for the majority of the characters in the show including Jesse, Hank, Walt’s family and arguably Walt himself because he would have died before his family was destroyed.

2:16 Alternate ending: Walt grabs Jesse's arm. Surprised, Jesse shots Walt in the head killing him. *End credits*

Walt actually used a 4th-wall breaking strategy to survive here. If you have a gun to your head in a TV show or movie, and you say "DO IT" or "PULL THE TRIGGER", the other person will never actually do it. It's basically a law of screenwriting. Bravo Walt

Walt: “do it!”
Jesse: “ILL DO IT!”
*Jesse does it*

-created by Vince Gilligan

*edit: damn 750+ likes for a copy/pasted comment format? Thanks y’all! Haha

One of the craziest things is that Bryan Cranston actually didn't know that Walt poisoned Brock when he acted this scene. That's why this lie is one of his most convincing; the actor literally wasn't told of his characters actions.

It can be interpreted that this decision on the writers and directors part cheapens the scene a bit; How can Cranston accurately portray the scene if he's not given all the information? However, in my opinion it makes for a fascinating look into Walter White's psyche. This is a man who has become so good at compartmentalizing information within his own mind that he's able to convince even himself that he couldn't do something so heinous. During this scene, to him, it's like it didn't happen. So of course he's able to convince Jesse that it didn't. Brilliant decision by everyone involved.

I remember my first time watching this scene. I also remember not moving a damn muscle the entire time while fixated on the screen. These two were just the best.

Walt is either the best liar ever or the worst. Never in between.

That angry crying face Jesse makes is my favorite it shows so much emotion and tells you how bad Jesse is hurting and confused

I'm 39, and never before, in my entire life, have I ever seen anything on the level of brilliance, that is Breaking Bad. Never.

Walter is a genius! He didn't even tell for once that he didn't do it. He just put the right questions, cut things and make Jessie realized exactlly what he wanted Jesse to realized. He is a genius manipulative, almost on the level of Patrick Jane...

Walter White sure does play a convincing Bryan Cranston.
