Elon Musk unveils Solar Roof by SolarCity

Tesla CEO and SolarCity chairman Elon Musk just announced a new way to power your home with solar power. The product is called Solar Roof, and it’s designed to replace traditional shingles with compact solar panels.

He said that it would cost less than a normal roof if you include the power savings of a having a solar power roof. He could easily be saying. You save $300 a month in power with this product. So you save $3600 a year. So in 10 years this $36, 000 roof job will pay for itself. See! It's a miracle, "Cheaper" than a normal roof. You gotta listen to the uhrm, "All things considered" part at 1:30

Solarcity never put on enough panels to ensure you don't pay the electrical company. they can only do 5kwh when I need 7 or 8. I had two estimates from solarcity and they always tell me I can only get 5, which leaves me with 2 bills. one to solarcity and one to the electrical company. think you can do something about that or is it all politics and red tapes?

Problem with solar is that it doesn't work at all in winter. When electricity is most needed.

Maybe the project should have been madde in the caribeean or another place where there is a lot of sun all year.
