Film Theory: Why Scar is the RIGHTFUL King! (Disney Lion King)

Disney's live action Lion King is causing a stir among Disney fans. I agree, this movie brought up a lot of questions about remakes and live action reimaginings of classic Disney movies... but maybe not how you think. See, the original Lion King ends with Simba taking over Pride Rock and everything is sunshine and happiness. When Disney decided to do a "real" Lion King, I looked into the behavior of IRL lion prides and WHOA! If Disney did a REAL Lion King, well... prepare to have your childhoods ruined. Again.

I like how just because the live action lion king looked more realistic, he immediately thinks that it will also play out more realistically

Mufasa and Scar probably had a strong bond in their earlier days, with Scar being the dominant one who was destined for greatness. However, Scar injured during a hunt as a result of a mistake or reckless behaviour from Mufasa which inhibited his ability to fight and be the rightful king.

When I saw the live action, disappointment doesn't even describe how I felt. Scar is and has always been my favorite villian. I loved his design as an animation, and his songs were a vibe. But when they downgraded him to some mangy old ratty lion with barely even a hint of a mane, I was pissed. My man deserves respect. Not ridicule.

There are 2 ways Mufasas death could’ve been avoided (there are more I know)
1. Simba could’ve hidden in one of the rock crevices that the stampede jump over
2. Mufasa could’ve just cling onto the edge and waited for the stampede to pass

Also worth mentioning is that Pride Rock wouldn't be devoid of vegetation like it shows in the movie. Without herbivores for the lions to feed on the foliage would have grown exponentially larger. Predators often go hunting in areas where the plant life has diminished due to overfeeding by prey animals.

There's actually another way this could have gone down; the movie just never happens.
I mean, we could have followed Simba after he gets kicked out and see him form a coalition and then take over a new pride (ok actually that would be a reallly cool movie) but Scar might have just never challenged Mufasa. There are cases of up to three male lions ruling a pride simultaineously with shared power, and that could have happened here. Mufasa and Scar rule equally, kick out Simba, the Pride Lands never dissolve, and SImba probably goes and takes over Zira's pride or something.

I also found it odd how they never addressed the fact that Simba and Nala should both have been part of litters. Lionesses don't have single cubs usually. So what happened to Simba's 2 - 4 littermates?
