About this channel: Welcome to my channel. I'm Amber Smith. My husband Granger and I live on a little farm in central Texas with lots of animals and our beautiful, super funny kiddos. We have London, Lincoln, River (who is now with Jesus) and Maverick. This channel is a spin off of our family vlog The Smiths.

I started Arise, when we lost our son, to share my feelings of loss, grief, love, hope, parenting and my faith journey along the way. We comb through scripture, I share what the Lord puts on my heart, I answer questions and more. My hope through Arise is that something I say makes you want to seek Jesus. He changed my life and my heart when I was in my 30s and I've been sharing the good news ever since.

I am 62 years old and for the first time am reading my bible all the way through ( using M'Cheyne Bible Reading Plan that you recommended-thank you) in a year. My early teen years, my parents started taking us to church. I never really felt the "need" to read the bible on my own. 2 years ago, God brought me back to Him and my faith in Him and love for Him has grown to a level I never knew was even possible. It is never too late to start.

I have been blessed to have remarried to a Christ seeking man and we now will be married 7 beautiful years. I met him through seeking God. "Staying together for the children" is almost as hard on the family as divorce! As the oldest, I grew up being my mother's confidant. I knew my parents did not like each other anymore & they were planning to go their separate ways as soon as us kids left home. I always felt that weight on my shoulders.
If I could be better...
I just needed to be less of a burden...

Then when my youngest brother left home, mom & dad decided they still loved each other. I'm happy they stayed together, but I really wish they would not have went thru all those hurtful, angry years. I swore I would do everything I could to keep my marriage alive, until I couldn't. But I wouldn't live in a loveless marriage by myself.

47 years old. I started reading my bible a couple of years ago. Didn’t understand so many things or absorb it. So many things were confusing. I kept it up anyway, prayed daily to God to give me wisdom, help me understand & absorb his word, eyes to see, ears to hear. It had just became “routine” One day it was like the flood gates opened. I dropped to me knees. I now crave it, look forward to getting into Gods word. I have so so much more to learn, and growing to do but finally seeing it come together and understanding it. What a blessing. Don’t give up, keep praying over it, through it. And wait. God is working! 🙏

Amber, I want to say thank you for doing your arises every Sunday. They have helped me grow in Christ. I am on my second time round on the Bible. The first time I did a different plan it was the Read Through The Bible in a year Map for Women. Now, I am doing the M'Cheyne plan. I love this one already. I have found I stick to this one the best. Wow! This message really spoke to me. From the topic of divorce to the feelings of being a bad mom to learning how to have a relationship with Jesus, I'm crying. It's so easy to take the attacks and feel i deserve them. And just sit depressed and lonely. I need to exercise. I need motivation. Thank you for giving me motivation to let God help me. 🤗🙏🏼

One of the powerful advice a priest gave me is dis, "take courage and be strong"! I wonnder why dis was powerful on me. Not perhaps of dat pious priest sacrificing his time, life for the sake of many...wen i read this dat it's God's own advice to moses and aaron, i understand. Glory to God!

Wow, that Jeremiah 15! I've read through the Bible several times but did not recall this conversation in Jeremiah. I'm writing a letter to my 31-year-old son who is in a faith-based rehab and will complete it in April. I know the enemy is and will attack him and I want to share these verses with him in my letter. Thank you for sharing this today!
