It looks like there is a yard the carrier has to enter to deliver mail and the guy wants to let his dog roam that yard. Why not just put a mail drop outside the yard closer to the entrance then. This is a bad setup and it makes sense why the carrier was threatened.

A mailman will have experience with unleashed dogs, many experiences being negative. I can understand him being afraid of the dog due to past experiences, but it's still an unfortunate circumstance. Just please, don't leave your dogs unleashed outside unless they are fenced in.

Can these people understand that dog is not allowed to defend its mail box? If not, the dog is too dumb to understand, the dog should be on on leash or get punished.

He was the one advancing towards the dog with the pepperspray in his outstretched hand. Wouldnt be suprised if he actually gets attacked next time because he deserves it.

I watched your footage and it clearly shows the mail carrier chasing your dog with the spray, he had every opportunity to leave. I hope the mail carrier lost his job, at the very least. The dog never left your property. I do feel dogs should be leashed when they are by the street out front, especially to protect the dog from injury, not everyone likes a dog approaching them. That's just my opinion.
