Beginning as protests against Xi Jinping’s Covid zero policy and endless lockdowns, these demonstrations have evolved into protests against the authoritarian regime of the CCP as a whole.
The Chinese people have had enough of living under a tyrannical dictator and have decided to do something about it.
Sky News contributor Carla Efstratiou takes a look at how Western leaders like Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak and Anthony Fauci have reacted to the protests and the reasons for their muted response.
‘The pandemic showed how inextricably linked each leader is through power networks that set the global agenda,’ she said.
‘Let’s hope the freedom of 1.4 billion Chinese people from dictator rule can be the legacy Covid-19 leaves behind.’
