Hi guys, really hope you enjoy this and find it useful – I did try to keep this as basic as possible but I really hope it doesn’t come across as condescending if you already know some theory. Have a great day and take it easy

Rob, this was great. Clear, concise, slow ( thanks) and wonderful camera work on the fingering. I have stopped watching several you tube teachers who go too fast ( at least for me) and skip over things that leave me spinning. I thought your presentation was spot on. MORE PLEASE!!! Cheers from Montana.

You are a man of many talents but you are a phenomenal instructor. I think you were born to teach. You have a comfortable and fun energy in your instruction videos 👨‍🏫Prof. M.Lord

I've been playing guitar for almost 30 years (at a mediocre level) and I've learned a bit of music theory along the way. Even still, I still watch videos like this to refresh the basics, and maybe I've overlooked something, or maybe you bring new stuff to my attention.

Absolutely Brilliant Video, Rob - your patience with us beginner twats and love for the instrument shine through. Your explanations are simple, thorough and clear. Excellent communication throughout. A winner!

Always nice when you start a video saying “oh, I know all this” and by the end you've learnt something new.

I’m picking guitar up again after a several year long hiatus. I found you through Andertons by clicking a video on accident and have been hooked by your personality your skill and method ever since. Thank you for helping me knock the dust off again! Cheers from Tennessee!

Maybe I am just far enough along, in my guitar journey, for this lesson to come at a perfect time... Rob you are now my favorite guitar wizard! This is just what I needed at this time! Thanks!

Brilliant thanks Rob and great to see you doing something for those of us who are only just learning to play. Duly saved to my favourites!

Hey Rob great job. I wrote the chords down starting with Cmaj of course and followed the minor chords adding in the Mode names and numbers. Thanks for helping to resurrect nearly 50 years of forgotten theory!

Thank you so much for the explanation on the bar chord and how you place your index finger. That one little tip has made bar chords far easier than they use to be and they all so clear!

This is the first video I have seen where it all makes sense already and that’s only from years of watching Chappers and the captain. Still great to watch as always. Great for beginners!

Right on! Appreciate how well you broke it all down, especially alternatives to f&b.

I've seen The Captian play the second version of a C chord many a time and wondered what it was and now I know. Such a great and useful lesson, please keep them coming as this one is something every one should learn early but is generally missed by many teachers.

I learned these chords when I was ten from my dad. He called them cowboy chords and I must say it was very helpful for me to learn chords first before I started playing scales and harder licks. Really great video! 👍

Great Job Rob. I just sent this URL to my grandson, I've been working with him on some of this. I'm hoping your method will catch his attention.
