absolutely stunning harmony. Anyone who critiqued her role in this song... take a re-listen

Just watched This is England '88. This was on the scene with Lol & Woody at the end. Beautiful.

This is a great era! Mountains of talented people, but all the rest (the majority) just sit and judge and throw stones. Not to mention publicly. l, for one, love this song! I love who is singing it. I love their clothes they wore when the sang it. And the video is sweet!!!! What here is NOT to love? It's simple. Don't love it? Fine, move along. But to actually put a negative comment? These clog up these posting places under artists who create these brilliant works. Has anyone any shame anymore?

.keep climbing into my head without knockin'
and you fix yourself there like a map pin
on this ghost of this street where i'm livin'
i'm in a chrysalis and i'm snowed in

darling, darling that dam's gonna give
it's inevitable the way that you live
bottles in brown paper and a mouth that slurs
all the shit that it stirs
let that dogwood blossom

there'll be hell to pay in heaven
for you take every street home

what happens when you're into deep to break
loneliness keeps you constantly awake
what happens when the passage of time appears
you see yourself as a child and it brings you to tears

you say that you're troubled and you always have been
uncomfortable in your own skin
so you contemplate the riverbed
turn off the dark thoughts in your head

darling, darling that dam's gonna give
it's inevitable the way that you live
bottles in brown paper and a mouth that slurs
all the shit that it stirs
let that dogwood blossom

there'll be hell to pay in heaven
for you take every street home

One of my favourite songs, made even more amazing by Anna Friel - who looks and sounds beautiful and may just be the only woman able to turn me! She does need a vest under that blouse though!

He's great but her allure is the way she's dressed, not her voice.
