Back in the 80s my best friend had one of these and until we could drive, thats how we got around. There were railroad tracks nearby that took us all they way into town. We would jump on that thing and be gone for the rest of the day. It took a lot of abuse and he rarely had any problems with it. Like you said, its a great beginner quad for somebody.

I had a 1987 230S (clutch) We traided my brothers Yamaha Tri-moto 175 3wheeler in on it New at Blackmans Yamaha/Suzuki back in the day. We can all thank Suzuki for making these first 4-wheelers so good. They caught on and quickly replaced 3 wheelers

Suzuki made the 230E from '87 to '93. The 230S came out earlier. It was from '85 to '88. And the 230E tops out around 43-45mph with stock gearing as an FYI.

I have a 1986 suzuki 230 quadsport with a clutch with a couple small mods like full exhaust jetted with 20 inch rears with 2 sizes bigger front sprocket and a little smaller rear and it gives my 300ex a run for its money but the 300ex is pretty stock tho

I ride my 92 lt230 on trails and small climbs with my friend on his '14 trx450r limited edition and they both perform equally well. And i have reverse while he doesn't 😂

They are wheelie machines. I grew up on one and could ride wheelies from 1st to 5th for miles

I just got one that complete rebuilt motor an I have a 2nd one that's torn apart but motor is rebuilt on it too traded my truck that was broke down for them both

Hey man please help me out with this, I have an 87 lt 230 e, I also picked mine up for 500$, how do you keep the chain on, is there anyway you can make a video about some maintenance, they are my favourite quad ever and I would love to get mine running again, also if you were woundering these have an insane horse power rating, about 37 horse power, I find it starts Best with the fuel inricher set all the way to the bottom, my battery is crap so I have he pull start it and even cold starting it will start first try every single time with the inricher set to the bottom, the lt230e is different because no clutch, kick start, pull start, and electric start
