In this video, CBT Nuggets Trainer Knox Hutchinson explains Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB and why developers like using a document-driven database. Knox also covers how developers can migrate their applications and services to Cosmos DB by utilizing various tools offered by Microsoft.

Cosmos DB is a document-driven database like MongoDB, a preferred database among application developers. Cosmos DB has many advantages over other popular document-driven databases like Mongo, however. CosmosDB leverages the Azure architecture by offering built-in hyperscaling and sharding making it trivial to expand database resources as applications grow. Azure is so extensible that it provides APIs compatible with SQL, Gremlin, and Azure Table that can be used to query data resting in Cosmos DB.

This Cosmos DB refresher video is part of Knox Hutchinson’s more extensive Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (AZ-305) certification course, where Knox Hutchinson teaches how to design and use a CosmosDB in a production-ready environment.

Hi CBT Nuggets, I've bought your instructional DVD's some 20 years ago on Linux and Apache server training. Glad to know you guys are still going strong.
