This is very interesting to me. As an educator in post-secondary, the connection and relevance to this approach, whether in the classroom or constructing/designing meaningful curriculum, is critical. To further my own learning, I am taking a course that examines conceptions of curriculum (i.e. academic rationalization), curricular designs (problem-centered), and philosophical frameworks related to curriculum (i.e.reconstructionism). The SoTL appears to integrate many aspects of these, seemingly, different metathemes. It is all so new to me and I find it all quite fascinating!
