Superyacht sinking: Who is tech tycoon Mike Lynch?

A British tech tycoon and his 18-year-old daughter were feared dead on Monday after his superyacht was struck by a tornado.

Mike Lynch, 59, and his teenage daughter Hannah are among seven passengers and crew thought to have been killed after his £30 million yacht sank half a mile off the coast of Sicily in the early hours of Monday morning. They were on a trip to celebrate his acquittal in a fraud trial.

Mr Lynch, dubbed Britain’s Bill Gates, had been acquitted of fraud in a San Francisco court room in June, having been found not guilty on all counts of inflating the value of Autonomy, the company he sold to the US tech giant Hewlett-Packard in 2011 for £8.6 billion.

The goons in the US who are responsible for a lot of carnage around the world just lost a case against Mike Lynch.
An “unsinkable” luxury yacht doesn’t sink so fast that passengers can’t escape.

Nicely done, my deepest sympathy for all involved. Forty years ago I had a similar experience, fiance killed in a crash and his business partner shot himself at the same time on the same day. Some questions never get answered.😢

The modern superyacht with its owner celebrating the lawsuit win sinks at anchor next to an old wooden yacht that survived the storm and rescued the survivors of superyacht.
