Normally I just glance up and see how much fuel I have left in my wing tanks, that gives me an idea when I must return to Earth.
Sailplane pilots are remarkable. Their source of "fuel" is found by chasing invisible columns of warm air and then knowing how to stay in that column. Seems like a lot of work and it undoubtedly requires a lot of skill but the pay off is good. There's no fuel bill. An annual is cheap since an A&P isn't poking around an engine. Of course you miss out on all that noise. I've listened to the same Continental O-300 for the past 40+ years to where I don't even hear it anymore. LOL, I don't hear a lot of things anymore! The sound of the wind rushing by the canopy without any other noise has got to be soothing and relaxing.

Now, how do you get such great footage of the occupants? Camera on a long stick? Or a drone? Neither of which I can think would be feasible.
