Born in Siberia, Boris Shtokolov rose to prominence as a Soviet opera singer, earning the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1966. His rich voice and commanding presence solidified the stereotype of the quintessential Russian bass. Notably, he was awarded the USSR State Prize in 1981 and the Glinka State Prize of the RSFSR in 1976. С20—15445-6
