Same in Canada. We are all poorer and they (government and big media) are telling us we have no problems. Line ups at food banks, people dying in the streets from drugs, afraid of our police forces, bad schools, hospitals and the list goes on and on. Wef and dei.

Our local animal shelters are full. It stands to reason that people don't adopt pets, or else abandon their pets when times are tough. Is this happening elsewhere?

Thank you so much for speaking the truth! We are selling our home because our expenses have doubled in the last 5 years. Our expenses (total) were a comfortable 40% of our fixed income when we bought our home 7 years ago and now they have risen to use up all of our income. And we are doing less expensive activities and not going out much. Luckily we found a nice rental for cheap! Now if our home will just SELL! The NAR settlement has screwed sellers and buyers!

Social Security sent out its notice on inflation-adjusted payments for 2025. Thankfully, the increase is only 2.5%, so that means inflation has been really low (less than 3%) in 2024 according to the gov't.

I've been saying this for 2 years bc I my business deals a lot with the OOH and billboard industry and we've observed an anemic economy since late 2021/early 2022
