I know that most of the viewers may be here to just enjoy the music and animation, but this song is full of deep symbolism and contains a hidden meaning that speaks volumes to me. Notice how everything is the world appears dull and lifeless, until the by shows up with his boombox, giving energy to his surroundings so that they turn brightly colored. Here we visible the visual distinction between the boy, who represents individualism and creativity, and the onlookers, victims of a homogenizing, conformist society that values productivity over individuality. Although video games are commonly looked down upon as a child's obsession, many of them, especially Minecraft, provide us with an outlet for our creativity, for which I am thankful. In the video, everybody lives without freedom of choice, a lifestyle we can all relate to as all our activities become progressively more structured. In a world where success and happiness are measured in income and growing children are robbed of their imaginations, the only way for you to maintain an intact imagination is to go against the flow and be a beacon of hope for those around you. Therefore, we can all root for the young boy when he breaks people out of their monotonous schedules and cheer as he stands up for individuality against the manager of a corporation, who wants ultimate control over everything, achieving it through stripping everyone of their individuality and independence.
