I’ve been fighting a thrips infestation for the past two months that I thought would be the death of me, but I think I’m almost past it. I took immediate action and fortunately haven’t lost a single one of my 150+ plants. If any thrips are reading this, know that your time has come.

I just got a free large cast iron antique plant stand and this is the only place that can appreciate that with me

Oh, dude, yes. “Curated, ” to me, is whatever makes you the happiest! If that is a bunch of plants hanging out together- makes perfect sense to me 😃 I’m happiest amongst the plants. 🤗

Hey Fern, this is the recipe I use and it hasn’t burned any leaves; even anthurium emergents!

Combine
4 cups Water
1/8 cup Dr. Woods Tea tree soap
1/8 cup Dr. Woods Peppermint soap
1/2 cup 70% Alcohol
1 1/2 tsp 3% Hydrogen peroxide
Shake to combine as using. Spray the leaves to run off, top of soil, nursery pot, cover pot. Clean surfaces. Use monthly to clean leaves or weekly for an active outbreak (3 weeks minimum).

What a great tour!💖

Just a PSA... Wally Grow loop planters are on sale for 5.00. They do stand on a flat surface/ not just hanging.

That house was meant for you, the windows are incredible, love the rainbows🤩😍.

I used this DIY recipe (kind of) for a thrips and spider mite infestation. I only had lavender castile soap but added a few drops of tea tree and peppermint essential oils and its worked wonderfully!

Just a heads up...whnen you spray your plants with the tea tree oil and peppermint oil mix, let them dry completely before putting them back under grow lighjts. That will cause burn to your plants

This is another reason why I never travel. Now that I have plants I would be worried sick about them at home while away. Best of luck I hope they stay strong for you!

I, too, am battling scale! The first time I have seen them in my collection. Where do they come from? Assuming they hitched a ride on new plant purchases. I squish them whenever we meet...!

When are you applying the pest treatment? Try doing it in the evening when the lights aren’t on. That might be why it’s burning

I have all the stuff to spray bugs, store bought and diy, but I've only sprayed 2x's. When I find bugs I separate and wash with dish soap and water, then spray with water in about 2 days and again if I see any. That's worked well for me. This summer I had an explosion of thrips on 1 newest leaf on an Anthurium, sprayed like that and they haven't come back. I was very surprised, bc there must have been 200 nymphs on the 1 newest leaf. I also decided to cut off 3 leaves with older damage, but had just a few thrips. I expected them to come back, but they haven't. Luckily I caught it in time, bc the 1 leaf looks really good.
