Learn more about the Wallbox Pulsar Max EV charger

Its ok but the zappi is "only" about £100 more by the time you factor in the cost of that ct clamp and gives you much more in ways of monitoring and controlling and you dont need to mess about with the dip switches etc. It's a bit convoluted plus the ct clamps for the Zappi are way cheaper and the unit more expandable and integrates better with the whole solar and battery. It's a great cheap unit if you're not aiming at fitting solar or a battery. Get a Zappi instead imho.

Nice installation.
However you can learn more about Wallbox from Trust Pilot... 3.2 stars does not seem to be ideal for regular use

Great video gents. It also looks a good installation. I also like the idea of the external consumer unit too👍

nice summers day in ol' Blighty eh? We are tending to set up a sub-panel these days - As our metering is almost-exclusively moving into the garage, along with the protection (Australian here) A sub-supply is easy to build in as it is surface mounted and gets around the regulators insistence that we don't mess with the metering enclosure.

Love the video gents. Just a shame about drilling the consumer unit and all the dust, put the post and installation looks good.

Would be nice to see them use the hoover fitting on the sds while drilling through the CU . Even a envelope to catch the dust would do . .

Great charger, awesome features, looks good, premium price... No support! If anything goes wrong with it, support is completely unresponsive.

536.4.203 regarding manufacturer’s accessories in Consumer units.
Is this now being overlooked or have most companies listed 3rd party kit like these CT’s and associated devices that they’ll happily have inside their products? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Atleast wallbox have improved the cable termination space from the old pulsar plus, I had one and it was awful, very tight and if you had anything bigger than 6mm it would be a nightmare. It also had very little heat dissipation space as its very small hence why it overheated multiple times. It soon got changed.

According to the EVC CoP, EVCs are supposed to be protected by their own DP RCD, so is there such facility within the Wallbox charger? If there's not, that RCCB within the CU won't comply - yes, it's DP, but it's a shared RCD.

From what I can find, the N1 CT uses RS-485 (Modbus RTU) serial data over the D+, D- connections which you wired to the orange pair of the data cable. Best practice for RS-485 is to maintain the factory twist in that pair up to the terminals. There's really no good reason to untwist it like that, you are just throwing away EMI protection and signal integrity for zero benefit. That installation has a higher than necessary risk of data corruption and loss over the RS-485. Untwisting the pairs used to give you a brown and blue for the 12VDC power feed to it is no big deal, it's just the data transmission pair that is less than optimal.

i installed one of the N1 CT and it was so small the ct wouldn't fit over the meter tails and then had to swap out for the power meter would rather use zappi or hypervolt to be honest

All looks good until you return home to find it's gone. Theft of EV chargers are on the increase as there is a ready market for the charger and copper prices are high. Remember crime pays really well. I think EV charger manufacturers need to beef up security and encrypt software within, so it is pointless to steal it as it will not work without a code

Is it certified for g100 fuse protection?

I don't see any strain relief for that supply cable, which a small child will happily swing on
