Don't break up your dahlias... yet

I like to keep dahlias at least a food apart if not 18 inches, so I could get away with just one clump in this pot, but I'll put two in.

If you're ordering from us, I do NOT recommend breaking up the clumps (wait for next year). You'll want to plant the whole clump with all of the tubers with the neck on the top.
