The Excel SUBTOTAL function is a function responsible for returning the SUBTOTAL or the overall result of all the numbers in a column of a database list.

ref1–This is a named range or a reference to subtotal.

ref2 - This is optional. This is the named range or reference to subtotal.

return value - The return value is a numerical value representing a particular type of subtotal.

#1 - The SUBTOTAL function is capable of returning a SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, and others with values in hidden rows either included or excluded.

#2 - If the function num value is between 1-11, the hidden values will be included in the SUBTOTAL function.

#3 - If the function num value is between 101-111, the function SUBTOTAL excludes or ignores the hidden values
