SPECIES #8: TIGER MUSKIE (ESOX MASQUINONGY x ESOX LUCIUS)

Often called the fish of 10,000 casts, the tiger musky is a fierce predator that is a cross between a northern pike and a muskellunge. Tiger muskies will attack most any lure but the lure is worthless unless you come prepared with steel leader to prevent the sharp teeth from slicing your line. When fishing for muskies, especially during the hot summer months, it is crucial to the muskies health to have proper fish handling techniques so as not to kill the fish.
