I'm going to do this with my girls. I'm currently creating a playlist of moves to teach them. Things are happening so fast these days and I want them to be able to defend themselves.

I want my great grandson to learn to defend against bullies and I don't want him to be agrrssive either. He is 6 and is already being bullied and teachers do nothing. I am teaching him to run away & tell if possible and to inform the bully of the law. We will file a lawsuit on his parents if he isn't made to stop. I will teach him to use the full force of the law too if need be but I want him to know how to run away or defend in case of an emergency. I have told him to tell the bully its illegal to lay a finger on him if he doesn't want him to and he will file charges on him if he ever hits him, grabs him or harms him in any way. I know that sounds crazy but 6 year olds have the right to the protection of the law like anyone else and I'm teaching my grandson to exercise his rights.

I'm doing this but I'm 11, so I'm adding kicks and spins and much more for it. I'm also trying to get stronger so I can twist my arms out, kick the knees or shins, then jump on top of the persons back.

Your first points were excellent brother. That's a point I've been trying to make to my students as well and when I first started making the point to them about confidence and body language I saw the light bulbs go off so to speak. A lot of kids aren't confident in their ability to defend themselves or they're scared of a physical confrontation, so for them to learn that most attackers are in actuality just cowards and that they could possibly scare THEM by carrying themselves in a more confident manner, they really started to embrace the idea of self empowerment.

it’s so sad, in 80s and 90s never would even think of bullying at such young ages. I was at a play Center recently with my 2 year old and this 3 year old was pushing other kids, then few minutes later he ran to my two year old and head butted him, at first I thought maybe it was accident but the bully kid went ahead and head butted my kid 2 more times, I was livid, his parents of course no where to be seen, my son at this stage was screaming and weeping, I told the bully kid to move and took my son away. It really got me thinking, how sad that kids at that age are now learning to hit and bully. What happened to innocence and wonder? And more importantly got me thinking I need to start teaching my son to fight back.

Kids are usually bursting with energy. A great way to productively channelise this packed energy is to enrol them in martial arts training. Some parents fear that martial arts may encourage aggression and violence in kids. But this concern is baseless and has no logic.
Martial arts like Kung Fu, Aikido, Taekwondo are not only fun activities for boys and girls, but they may also help promote physical fitness and mental strength in children.

My only issue with the palm-shove is when I did use it in defense, while I did break the other persons ribs.. I am pretty sure I cracked some bones in my hand/wrist. I am 4'11 and shoved a 6'4 guy, but he only had about 40lbs on me tops. So i would worry with a smaller child, who doesnt have their growth plates yet formed or fully hardened bones, that that could seriously hurt them as well. Is there maybe a better option? Obviously use what you have to when you have to but is there a better option for teaching littles?

Hi Sensei. Thank you so much for the informative and lovely video. I would like to ask if the kids could punch as well after the blockings? Thanks in advance.

Do I need to find a “Krav Mega” class in order to get this type of training? I mean I understand all the repetitive exercises and other stuff to teach good balance, control, and self-confidence, but to me the whole Karate thing seems to be be a complete waste of time, IF the goal is real-life self defense. Personally I don’t see much use for anything else. I would be more happy having an instructor teach just these three lessons and I would in probably weeks off a typical karate class. So I need to search up Krav Mega classes then?

I had my own self-defence classes for kids/teens teaching mma 👊🏼🥋👊🏼 #kungfu #kickboxing #karate #muaythai #boxing and #jiujitsu. I studied kung fu at the age of 5 years old and progressed to becoming an instructor, all youngsters nowadays should be learning #martialarts 🥋
