The inclusion of Virtua Fighter 2 makes complete sense from a japanese viewpoint.
For those who dosnt know, Virtua Fighter 2 was freaking HUGE in japan, way more popular than Street Fighter II ever was and thats saying alot.
They had TV tournaments way back in 91'-94', the arcade pro's were treated like rock stars.
Its a TV tournament from 94.


The west dosnt really know much about the Japanese VF scene because VF never caught on in the west.
But Virtua Fighter 2 was legit the first ever true eSport and its such an interresting subject to explore.

I'm very grateful to see a review of this machine from our shores. Being an owner of the original console still, and rightfully sticking to using an old CRT TV for it, I was'nt all that tempted to buy one of these. I already own some of the games featured, and Ive tried to convert my original console through a HDMI converter with unsatisfactory results. But I recently saw a knocked down price of this in a supermarket, and after watching your review, I'm more tempted to make the purchase, so I can at least have the option of playing some of these classics on a HD TV. Plus the menu and language settings are a massive selling point.

The best video on the mini I’ve seen. Nice job. But speaking just for me, the Genesis was all about sports games. I know there are licensing issues, it this just doesn’t feel right with no sports games at all.

I said this on Happy Console Gamer's video, as he also used the Phantasy Star 4 music, it's great to hear that game's title music. I'm not even a big RPG fan, but I love that game. It gets off to a quick start and the story and game play keep a brisk pace. The music is excellent in that game as well. Great to hear your opinions on the system and the games included. You deliver your thoughts in a very compelling way. I didn't intend to sit through the whole video right now, but that's exactly what happened.

I just played my Sega Mega Drive Mini for the first time. I'm Swedish but living in the US, so naturally I had to have the Mega Drive version and not Genesis. I had to order it to a Swedish address and wait until I got back there. Worth it!
The console was missing a few games. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker is, in my book, a classic. A very clunky, simplistic classic... :) Another game I missed was Arrow Flash, a fast paced side scrolling shooter. Of course, there is no Sega MD/Gen without the Splatterhouse games... I mean... Sega was the adult console after all.
All these games are now on my Sega MD Mini. It's now complete. I can't wait to bring it back to the US where an empty spot is waiting for it, right next to my NES- SNES- and Playstation Minis. And yes.. it will work in the US. My EU SNES worked just fine and I don't see why this shouldn't.
