ok girly. I'm here in Illinois corn country. microwaving your corn is fast but not good. your cob was flacid because microwaves cook from the inside out. always boil your corn in water with only sugar added to the water. never salt. then take a bundt pan. place the ear of corn in the "cone" part of the pan and with a serrated steak knife saw down each side. easy peasy lemon squeezey. hope this helps🐙

My gramma used a similar thing 50 years ago to take corn off the cob, but she always did it while the corn was still raw. Granted, the corn has to be shucked and silked first as well, so either way there's a drawback.

Blanched or fresh corn is the best for removing kernels. Micro cooks from inside out, there for, cooking the cob & being limp.... Funny as hell with the limp cob. You gO

It looked to me like you may have cooked the corn for too long. I don't think the cob should have been that soft and flimsy. I'll bite my tongue when it comes to what that cob looked like afterwards. LOL!

Keep using that corn cutter, especially if you are doing multiple ears and your going to develop big biceps. Too much effort vs using a knife. When this thing is dull, how do you sharpen it?

I've never used a corn kerneler on cooked corn before... I think it works better on raw corn that has more rigidity... although that corn looked really floppy, maybe because it was cooked in the microwave?

It was so hard to do use because its meant to be used with raw corn. The cob will be hard and standup better making it easier to slide down and cut the corn.
