The course was originally a Phoenix muni called Papago. It was a nice course but was in dire need of a facelift. The pro shop was a rickety old building. Glad to see ASU moved over there. One thing not mentioned was the scenic view from the practice facility of Papago park.

Nice facility and the coach seems genuine. However, it’s not the best in college. The facility falls well short of the college facilities at Alabama ($42 million) and Texas.

ASU closed the Karsten course - the finest campus golf course in the country about 5 years ago. It was on campus. It was an incredible course. But the ASU "leadership" decided that they needed the real estate to make more money. Where'd the $10, 000, 000 come from? Papago has been around since the 60's - ASU could have built their golf facility there the first time, and saved a ton of money. I guess it's required today for the athletes to be spoiled if they are in college golf, and this borders on professional, which I guess it "par" for the course!
