How To Clean Draft Beer Lines

If you're anything like me, this is probably a job that you don't do often enough. Keeping your beer lines in good condition will improve the quality of the beer you serve, and increase the shelf life of your product once you tap the keg.

This is true if you're using a kegerator, a keezer, or (like me) a flash chiller or remote chiller as if you were trying to set up a pub in your front room.

Great video Mark, sticking to cleaning will extend the life of lines and fonts.

I've not used line cleaner before, I just try to do the following whenever I finish a keg off. Clean out the keg using ChemClean which I typically leave soaking for a day or two, then run out through the beer line, rinse it all out with cold water, run that through the beer line too, final step, load up with ChemSan and run that through the line too. Not had any issues and, if I'm lazy or busy and don't clean out the keg/line for a few weeks, the lines are short enough and cheap enough to get replaced. Not sure it'd work on your set up, but on my 4 tap Keezer, I've recently tried out the kegland floaw control disconnects, allows me to run 5/16 short lines from keg to tap, meaning I'm not losing meters of beer line if I do need to replace it.

I haven't tried purple line cleaner but I will. My lines are so short I change them after every keg and clean the taps out with a mini brush and cleaner. Its a real faff

Hi Mark Great Video. I've just purchased a system with a Shelf cooler. I'm just trying to get it all set up. Where do I get the CO2 from I'm struggling to find a supplier. I got an empty CO2 bottle with the system. Can you give any advice 🙏🏻

You say co2 is cheap but I'm down to using sodastream bottles. BOC wont deliver to new customers who are not in the trade anymore. Do you have any suggestions? Cheers.
