The story of three childhood friends, Lucy (Britney Spears), Kit (Zoe Saldana) and Mimi (Taryn Manning), who, after eight years apart, rediscover their friendship on a cross-country trip. With barely a plan, practically no money but plenty of dreams, the girls catch a lift with Mimi's handsome friend Ben (Anson Mount) in his convertible. Along the way they not only gather experiences that will change their lives, but they also discover how important it is to hold onto their hearts' desires.

This movie was surprisingly mature, well acted, and overall really great. I expected a dumb, cliche but it was so real.

I saw this movie when I was a child, I loved it. Back then I had two parents, then my dad left a year later. Without a trace, I watched this movie again and seeing a young woman coming back from a parent leaving helped. Then many many years later I fell pregnant at 18, watched the movie again and seeing Mimi’s story hit a place in my heart differently to before. I can safely say I cried. This movie is by far one of my favourite movies, the acting, storyline, production. All of it was beautiful, relatable. I’m thankful this movie was made, as the 8 year old girl who first watched this to now at 23, it’s super cheesy saying this but it helped me in ways I didn’t know it could, I didn’t know it would. It’s a shame there wasn’t more movies like this out there, because this is a diamond. No teen drama, no girls fighting over boys or the girl finding out the boy best friend was the one. It was three different girls with completely different stories, finding their way into adulthood.

Since Netflix started streaming it, I have watched this movie four times already. It's simple yet enjoyable, and definitely a feel-good movie. I love the chemistry between Anson and Britney; they're adorable! 🥰

Can't believe it's going to be 20 years next year. I went to see it at the movies with my best friend in 2002 when we were 14 because we adored Britney. I realise now how cheesy this movie is but it does bring back good memories.

Britney was 19 when this movie came out. In her own life she was expecting to age into her 20’s becoming an adult and have her own independence. Her parents ruined her life. Her father especially and his posse turned her into a slave, locked her down so hard I think she had to ask to blink!! Is that a form of trafficking, I don’t know, but I can’t imagine doing that to my sons. Poor girl. Be well and find some happiness Britney.

I used to watch this movie all the time as a kid because of my older sister. I’m currently watching it on Netflix because I noticed the cover! I couldn’t believe it. One of the best films, truly.

I wish Britney would have done more acting. Maybe her life would have been a little bit different. She wouldn’t have hurt her knees performing on stage and for music videos all the time. And she probably wouldn’t have met K Fed either.

This movie is nice and so nostalgic, nothing complicated, just an easy watch. It’s sad a bit as the her dad in the movie was quite protective of her but she found freedom in the end. Unlike what has happened in real life.
