Washington Section L (Rainy Pass to Canadian Border) is 61 miles. Returning to Hart’s Pass from the Canadian Border for pick-up is an additional 30 miles.

August 25-28, 2021

2653 miles and 149 days later, we are done with this thing. We are a whirlwind of emotions, and it’s going to take some time to process everything that we’ve accomplished over the past five months. To think that we started at the border of Mexico, nervous, excited, unsure. To think that we made it through all three states just ahead of the fire closures and tagged the Canadian Border with our continuous footpath intact. To think that through happiness, sadness, excitement, frustration, beauty, and pain, we did this entire thing together. We learned together, we struggled together, and we grew together. It is incredible, and it is surreal.

We thank you all for following our journey and encouraging us along the way. Until next time,

Oakley & Birdbath

This has been a long journey and it has been quite the experience summarizing these very long days into consumable videos. We are grateful for the encouragement and support throughout our journey. Truly, some difficult days were made a little bit easier alongside some of the kind and thoughtful words people have left us. Thank you for joining us on our little walk, we are pleased to be able to share this experience with you.

Well you certainly knocked it out of the Park with this Episode Rob. I absolutely loved it. The recap, the stats, the music, the heartfelt thoughts and the breaking up with the abusive relationship made me laugh. Put it all together and I found it very emotional. It actually made me cry. I know you finished months ago but I am so glad you spent time putting this together for us. It was well worth it. Fantastic episode. Shaving that beard off took 20 years off you but it had grown on me as it will have undoubtedly with others. Thank you for the shy tentative start, the parts where I wasn't sure whether Rob had wind or was smiling to the broad smiles the mixed emotion and the homecoming. I watch 3 channels this year and you are the only ones who walked all the way. Others walked what was open but you guys were determined to do the whole miles. You get my respect and admiration for not only completing such a mammoth task but for doing so in such an entertaining and visually rewarding way. A first class production from beginning to end and the end was magnificent. So much has happened in my life in your time on Trail but to know I had a once weekly look into someone's life who was having a hard time in their own way gave me something to hang onto. A Nurse too!!! A great couple, a wonderful experience for you and for us and now I have an empty space where the anticipation was. I really hope that you will continue to take us along on your hikes and I hope one day in the future you hit the CDT or AT or both!!! You never know, you may even decide to SOBO the PCT. You have inspired me to put my boots on and get out there, not in the same magnitude of a hike, but get out there and experience some nature. I know this is a bit of a oratory or diatribe but I want to thank you both from the bottom of my heart. I hope your knee is fully healed Cassie and Rob has either sorted out his iron deficiency or whatever it was causing his nose bleeds. One last thing. Did you see Rob having a pee in the background of your shot at 4:00? It did make me laugh. But it was so you. Thank you again and I can't wait for the Q&A. Hopefully soon or a Christmas Eve Special? What about a Documentary? If not you are forcing me to watch a marathon of your hike which I will probably do anyway. Thanks for everything xxx

I've only just realised I've said Casey for 5 months and it's Cassie. My bad, you would think I'd have got it right. Sorry Cassie.❤🙃

I know there are many like me that for one reason or another can’t get out and hike right now. The fact that you’ve taken the time to share your journey and bring the trail to me in such a beautifully filmed and edited format means so much to me. Thank you and congratulations.

One of the BEST videos of any of the PCT hikers I've ever seen over the years. The sequence from 10:45 to 15:00 is perfection in cinematography and to you both for achieving your Dream.

We are Erik (62) and Marjo (61) from the Netherlands. We have followed you weekly on your trail for the past seven months. with great admiration we have seen your struggle with the elements: the heat, the cold, the rain. But also your personal struggle with aches and pains, the homesickness. You have really grown together and make a very good team. Respect how you really did it together. Nice also the reflection in the last episodes.

Well that brought tears to my eyes! An epic last film of an awesome series. As someone who has never visited North America, you have introduced me to the spectacular landscapes whilst still sharing your personal journey. Thank you for all the effort that goes into producing such quality films. I will miss you guys!

Wow! This was certainly the best episode, it captured so much. I really appreciate all the effort you two put in, not just with the hike, but the videos as well. I can't wait to see where you end off next. And thank you for posting the video of Bear seeing you come home!

I began watching your series before attempting my SOBO PCT thruhike. Unfortunately, I had to abandon my attempt at Rainy Pass due to injuries. I couldn’t bear to continue watching your progress. I was pretty depressed, and unable to regain my feet for two weeks, even with crutches. It took months before I could walk without a noticeable limp. On a whim, I opened a few browsers and won another go at the PCT, this time, NOBO. I finally watched the second half of your journey. Well done, you two, and great work documenting your collective journey. Congratulations. ~DosEquis

I have enjoyed your videos so much! Thank you for sharing your journey. The clip of greeting your pup is heart melting. The montage before the border is amazing. Great work - both on completing the trail and completing the editing of these videos! Thanks again!

My wife and I have watched every one of your episodes, from the beginning, and we just wanted to thank you for posting them, and wish the two of you the best as you go forward from here. We hike a lot, and the PCT is on our bucket list...

Wow! Thank you for sharing! That last section is so iconic and watching it brought back so many memories of my hike. I can definitely relate to the magical surprise of running into people who are walking back to Harts Pass after tagging the monument

Well, in a word, incredible. Or maybe fantastic. Or phenomenal. Or all three! Congratulations, you kids did it (at my age I can call you kids). With that FINALE video, and all the preceding ones, it’s official—you guys are my favorite PCTers ever. You did such a great job with these videos, what a treasure. Thank you so much, what a privilege it’s been following along.

Wow! What a wonderful way to close off an incredible, amazing accomplishment. Rob and Cassie, you have presented, over these past months such a beautiful, honest accounting of you journey. This finale episode is so well put together. Just amazing. And several more smiles from Rob. Cassie’s always smile ant their love for each other. Rob, thank you for the stats and way you edited this finale. Really very nice. I’m sure going to miss seeing this adventure. Hopefully Cassie’s knee it healed and you have settled back into the home routine. I am grateful, through you both and your videos to be able to relive the portions of the PCT that I had hike so long ago. Thanks so much! Wishing you both the very best, Bill
