If you have "low" ceilings, use a trim profile that occupies more of the ceiling than the wall.

Well no you can still paint crown white just not that crappy 5 in one monster you get from most suppliers if you want a white crown you just make it a short height multi piece crown that projects farther onto the ceiling then that wall that way you have a readable feature the elevates the ceiling my problem with painting a crown to match a wall especially a production single piece crown is it further muddles the already faint and cluttered shadow line detail taking it farther out of the human proportions that this style of architecture was based on making it look cheap
