Anthony, I'm so glad that HRT is treating you well! You look beautiful! And you're the same Melon we all know and love.

Probably the best guest speaker thus far. She definitely is able to get ideas across quickly while being listenable with some personality throw in.

Glad to see a review of this album. It's so incredibly heavy and oppressive in the best way possible

So, I definitely agree with many, if not most of the points made in this review, but I think maybe I need more time to digest it before I’d give it a potential 10... It’s definitely my favorite from them, probably the first one I think I’ll be able to say that I genuinely love.. I’ve liked Uniform since I discovered them just going through the artist roster of Sacred Bones, probably close to a decade ago now.. liked, not loved. This album though, I think I love.

Their collabs are all great, and last non collab LP ‘Shame’ I thought was maybe their best, but I never found myself moved like I do with American Standard. That title track is so freaking intense, man. This is actually a great companion piece to the new Chat Pile, and though definitely a lot different, the new Pyrrhon.. I just get a similar kind of intense emotional impact from those three right now. Good gym music, but also good lay on your bed with headphones and get lost music..

Also, there’s a companion album to ‘American Standard’, the instrumental ‘Nightmare City’.. It’s not just the instrumentals of these songs, it’s legit its own thing that kind of takes the essence of these songs, and turns them a bit more drone/ambient, so if you’re into that, I highly recommend it. Strong 8/10 for me right now, potential for it to be a 9..

To anyone here to talk about waiting for the new Chat Pile's review - this might be for you. Genres are similar, the big difference is the tracks are much longer

thank you for getting me aware of this project. that being said, i will die without a chat pile review soon.

I was not expecting to like this album as much as I did! I went in with low expectations as noise rock and industrial rock aren't generally genres I gravitate towards, I can be pretty cynical towards those genres tbh but this has absolutely wowed me... I liked the whole thing apart from the long shouting intro petty much. The opening track is very proggy which I liked a lot.

I know there's been an absolute flood of new albums, but melt banana, chat pile, and stetson would be cool. Glad to see the uniform review though; been enjoying this one.

Such a great review. I don't often comment but I felt like I had to! This was awesome. Really articulate and easy to understand whilst doing justice to the themes and concepts. Please be a guest again.
