As someone who has been through many of a southeast Louisiana hurricane, it's so different when you are a kid, with no care in the world, maybe even excitement, for the smaller storms. But now as an adult, when you have your own place, it can be extremely worrisome and stressful. I have been through Katrina and Ida, and those gave me major PTSD.
