Considering the Apache has become the attack helicopter of record from the 2000's onwards.. it's clearly the right philosophy to copy.

It's an attack Helicopter, they are all pretty alike (except for the KA-52).

In the big picture looks similar, but when you zoom in, there are big difference. Is definitely not a copy machine, when you look at the details, the engine is different, flight controller are different, propeller shape are different, weapons system are different, radar system are different, copy? Easy to borrow some idea of the shap, how it easy to copy hard to copy the hardware and software?

One element I wish the US would copy of the Russian helicopters is to add ejection seats to the Apache. The pilots are the most valuable asset involved beyond just the desire to protect our guys.

The US Army might have cancelled the FARA program because of helicopters' vulnerability to antiaircraft missiles, or it might just be the Army's continuing indecision about what it wants to follow the Apache, which has been in service for 38 years.

PLA may not even adopted this one, PLA is on the fence about the heavy attack chopper for years, they wanted that in 80s, but after 911 and 2 wars US involed, they doubt it will make much differences.

If you say that j10 is like Lavi, I completely agree, and j20 is like f22. Well, from some perspectives, they are partially similar. You say this is Apache? Come on! How can we be realistic? Where is the similarity?
