Anytime a person gets a DNA test, it doesn’t mention their nationality bc where they live or were born has nothing to do with their genealogy or ethnicity. The fact that Dricus Du Plessis was born in and resides in South Africa does not genetically make him African. It just means his NATIONALITY is African, and there’s a difference. Adesanya on the other hand, no matter where he moves to, his ethnicity is African. It’s based on his ancestry. YES, both fighters are African but in different ways. Du Plessis is a South African CITIZEN, and he can always change that. Adesanya can’t change his ancestry.
