Mortal Remains Lyrics:
--------------------------------------------------------
I am digging deeper into the dark sand
Cold and wet earth in my bare hands
A desperate undertaking, it is all I have left
I cannot live with this unbearable pain in my chest

I do not care if I am disturbing you
Oh, I know I am filled with greed

Finally I found you, I need to feel whole
Oh, my love, I am here to take back what you stole
Somewhere in your coffin, I am searching for my soul

I do not care if I am disturbing you
Oh, I know I am filled with greed
You disturbed me ever since you left me here to bleed

All I have found are your mortal remains
Lying on this dirty ground
Where are you now? Where are you now?
I cannot feel you around

I do not care if I am disturbing you
Oh, I know I am filled with greed
You disturbed me ever since you left me here to bleed

Now, kids, this is why we learn _healthy_ coping mechanisms instead of digging up our dead lover's corpse.

She is like a siren. Everytime when I hear her voice I need to listen her again

Can we just talk about how good Zora's acting is in this video? You can really feel how enraged and saddened she is when she opens the coffin in hopes of seeing that loved one again, only to find a corpse and nothing else. No light in their eyes, no soul in their being, just mortal remains. Whoever was in that coffin is truly gone. Anyone who's ever lost someone knows this feeling. It's heartbreaking! Brava, Zora!

There are not many more beautiful things as red and black. And autumn leaves? Gravestones? Beautiful sad girl? Pure Gothic! Love it. And song has some Gothic metal vibes too.

Why do I really want all her music videos to become a series?

Imo you know why most people go insane?
Because all that, anger, rage, sadness, despair, love and angst... in most people have no talent in expression through art or music.
It just bottles up inside twisting and turning, becoming a maelstrom of emotions until we eventionally explode into insanity or deep depression. Rage destructively against the world or spiral down into self destruction.
However sometimes people are born with a talent of self expression in art, books, music...that they can share their stories with the rest of the human race where some people can find sweet release in the beauty of another's creation.
Honestly artists of all types save more people's souls than they realise, even if they are only trying to prevent or repress their own insanity.

I feel like, the message, is that she went back to her old dead self...
A part of her died when the person that she gave her soul to left (be it by walking away or through death). And she tries to find the part of her that died, in hopes that she will feel whole again if things go back to the way it was, if she had her old self back. Only to find that she can't go back, and will forever have her innocence, joy, and warmth torn away from her, and can never have it back.

Or I got it wrong. I didn't want to read in to the obvious message, but how this video spoke to me in it's own way.

🖤Still an amazing piece of art!🖤

I don't think anyone can make dark look so beautiful as you do.

I feel like Zora would be a good actress. She does such an amazing job of conveying her energy and emotions in all of their videos.

To be honest, my first girl friend died in an car accident. So this song rlly rlly touched me in "deep and dark places."
I guess this song is gonna be one of my favurites, it reminds me why I didn't gave up back then.

So, awesome song! 🤘🏾

I may be straining here to find an association but I swear it feels like this is connected to Until Eternity. Like a solemn ending to the story where her loved one has passed and she feels she cannot bear anymore. He is apart of her soul, being soul mates and all, and is desperately trying to find that bond again but cannot move on. Not to mention when she lays down at the end it reminds me of the opening of Until Eternity. Making this feel, to me, like it has come full circle.

edit: As well as the dates on the tombstone. I didn't catch that before!

when i was little people were telling stories about a dark lady that roamed the cemeteries at night digging into graves... some would say she was a vampire or a corpse eater... i couldn't understand back then but now i know that someone took her heart and she was just searching for it

I really enjoy the way she sang very softly this time while the instrumentals in the backround were more intense than usual.

I lost my husband suddenly a month ago. This song speaks to his I'm feeling. He's been cremated so there is no coffin for me to search for my soul. But all in the same...I feel this song deeply.

Zora's upper range is chilling and no one sounds like her. it's shrill but clear and full, not thin. Beautiful song and voice ! Well done EVERYONE !!!!
