What We Really Think About Apple's M4 Macs

This is the weirdest Apple product launch, ever, and you know what, I'm all for it. It wasn't one but actually 3 events, and since the company kept teasing that there was more to come this week, it was worth it to just wait it out and make a single recap over what's new, and why you should care.

I'm all for this approach because otherwise, this would've been a very long keynote where the benefits of each product would've had to be condensed. At a time when hardware iteration is a thing and software or compute power updates are the new selling point, yeah.. More detail is appreciated. Apple did confirm this was the final day today, so I guess updates to the Mac Pro and Mac Studio will just have to wait.

Happy with the upgrades although happy with my M3 pro chip MacBook. 24gbs of ram is the sweet spot in my opinion. I have almost maxed out the 18gbs with my data crunching in excel. So 24 would be mint. The change I need to see is a re-design and face ID. If thats the M5 ill get it. If its M6 ill wait. Glad to see the progress, but ill keep enjoying my M3 pro for now.

Awesome. Glad to see another video. That new mini is by far the best bang for your buck for any computer out right now. Period. What a tiny little beast !!!! I have the M3 16' MacBook Pro. My biggest complaint about apple is the dam keyboard. The shiny keys after only 3 months is ridiculous. It's annoying and makes the keyboard look like crap. Stop using ABS plastic. Makes a perfect looking computer look unperfected. Start using PBT. Find a way to make it work.

The average user should get an m1 machine. All this power isn't needed from day to day. Even Windows machines are fine. Most people only care about web browsing and better life

I think it is great the Mac’s are getting more starting memory, next to get more storage ! The M4 Pro Mac mini looks to be the coolest addition to the Mac lineup. But I’m not doing any upgrades this year, since I’m happy with my M3 Max MacBook Pro.

I pre-ordered the base Mac mini as soon as it was announced. I already have plenty of external storage so the 256GB didn't bother me.

Still not sure if I should buy a 15" M3 Macbook Air or a 14" M4 Macbook Pro. The air seems to be the better value for now being cheaper and a 1" bigger. Especially as I don't need the performance. I just wished they would also release the air the same time with the new CPU. :)

You can get a base 10 core mac mini, a 27” 240Hz OLED monitor and better peripherals for the price of a 10 core iMac.

I think they staggered the announcements so the preorders weren’t overloading the website traffic like it normally does after Apple product events. Th last couple years have been a problem for Apple’s internet traffic during new device launches. So I think this was calculated on their part.

I prefer the now discontinued M-2 "mac mini" Pro models. The new "mac mini" looks like a small Roku streaming box. In addition, it no longer has any USB "A" ports which, I use to connect my Apple wired keyboard, my Apple DVD super-drive, and my Epson inkjet printer (smile ... smile).

The iMac is no longer a good consumer value. The base model is hampered by only 2 USB ports, and an addition $80!!! to choose the keyboard with a numerical pad. I can't figure out if the power brick for the base model has the ethernet jack in it (specs say "configurable" but no option is offered when building one). The $1499 model cheaps out with 256GB of storage. It is not a compelling option at any price point. ESPECIALLY compared to the Mac Mini.
