We have a sheep as a pet and to eat the weeds that grow in the yard. We were alarmed when we saw him (Henry) infested with tics. The Veterinarian said that, "It just goes with the territory." We learned how to do the dip....and it works really good.

interesting from what i learned years ago that if your milk parlor doesn't meet the standards of inspection you can only sell your milk for cheese processing and not to be sold milk for drinking

working at a dairy farm i saw amazing things farmers do for the cattle..Shoot magnetic pellets down the cows throat and into their stomach to catch metal from when they graze out in the fields..Picks up nails from old fencing that a cow might swallow or other metal...Saw where cows wear metal tags and they walk up to the feeder and a computer reads the tag and it tells the automatic feeder how many pounds of feed to shoot down into the feeder box for that particular cow..Red dye packets stuck to a cows behind when a cow is in heat and if the dye pack was broken the farmer knows the bull mounted the cow and she may soon be pregnant ..and this was 20 years ago so i can't imagine what tech they have now days..Its just amazing how technical farming has become from the old days
