The first time I went to an anime convention was two years ago. Needless to say, it was an awesome experience. I saw my first pair of furries right after entering, and not even 5 seconds after that shocking realization a 6 ft tall man who looked like he hadn’t gotten out of his basement for years stood in front of me and stared directly down at my chest for a good 5 seconds, until I walked away. 10 seconds from that interaction, a man similar looking to the other one (except this one looked like he could be my grandpa) touched me by the arm and tried to make an out of nowhere conversation about a line that was next to us that we weren’t even a part of. All while, you guessed it, also looking directly at my boobs. Not even once did he look me in the eye while we had that conversation. It was…an experience. But on the positive side, I walked out of there with a spy x family sticker pack and a picture I took with an among us cosplayer. Good stuff!

NEVER make eye contact with an artists in the artist alley. I've gone home with entirely too many bad comics because my adhd having self was focusing on something unrelated then accidentally made eye contact. Next thing I know I'm engaged with some poor soul with no self awareness. Listening to their pitch while gazing at the robust stack of self published books that I just know they're going home with.

I won't lie, testing your cosplays before the con is SUPER important! I recommend testing the ability to walk up stairs and sitting. I once had a freind whose cosplay ripped when she sat down, so after a quick repair she had to suffer by standing for almost 8 hours with no relief until after the train ride home

my first anime convention was so fun that i went to another one and then i went to another when and then i went to another one and then i went to another one and i went to one like a week ago and im going to another one in october. let me tell you, i have smelled the TRENCHES of our earth. At one point was I not only giving out free fans, but also i dont know why i started off that sentence like there was something else i did. anyways, although theres these horrible things, they are always like the most fun events i meet friends at!! I always love meeting other cosplayers, but i also dont like when im going with my mom and dad (theyre both comic book buffs) because of the anime body pillows. anyways cant wait for october because the one i went to a week ago had me walking around or standing with no break for eight hours. ‼️‼️ I LOVE CONVENTIONS

fun fact at 13 i went to my first convention and saw vic mignogna and he asked me if i want to get a drink and his offer didint change once i told him my age :) side note i hope cons have chilled out on how many "situations" occur 😩

I was in full lolita×animal crossing cosplay with my gf at the time. Walked around the whole day then did a photo shoot. Twords the end I started feeling bad so I went back to the hotel and passed out on the bed. Gf came back and managed to wake me up and I threw up in the bathroom. All cause I didn't drink water. the first and only time I went to an anime convention was for my friends birthday, and I also happened to meet the voice actor for glamrock freddy, he was really nice and I felt so bad bc I was literally the only one in line to take a picture
