I spend most of my life in this industry. IMHO A I can not be stopped. I fear an arms race between Command societies (China, Russia, etc) and Capitalism. Capitalist money will follow where money is made. Will Capitalist come out on top? Which is better for us?

If human population remains steady or drops, use of AI should not increase. Why, because new machines will be better and there will be no use for old AI.

We create the reality we think and dream. Enough! All we need to do is dream of a future without machines and automation. We need to have vision for a simpler life where we are not under the control of being smarter, more efficient, more productive etc. The Stone age people and early farmers were more happy and content because they weren't in such a rush to have a paradigm shift in lifestyles. We are masters of our own destinies; unless we want to be controlled by our new robot overlords we are creating.
