You could have made a bunch of splits fr all those queens .
I would have put the second brood under for a couple weeks and an empty frame in the middle of the nest then reversed it cold night temps here make top supering brood a bit more touchy .
Glad to see no excluder to reduce the hive size .
Big hives make more honey 🍯

Why wouldn’t you move the feeder up at this point?

What type, how much and where do you give them extra feed you had mentioned? Also how long do you continue to feed them?

Thanks.

This is my second season and you are helping a lot with these short vids on each phase of starting the new hives.

Do you recommend moving some of the frames up to the new box?

Why don't you move a brood frame up to the top super?

Agree. Not enough information. Do you put a queen excluder between the boxes? Where are you feeding the bees? Didn’t see a feeder in your box?

I have a strange question (I'm a brand new beekeeper). When I add my second brood box, instead of placing a box of brand new empty frames on top of the box of fully drawn full frames, is there any advantage to swopping some of the drawn frames from the first brood box up into the second box to promote the bees going upstairs? Then they can simultaneously draw out the empty frames I put down in the first box in place of the ones I moved upstairs?
